Adjusting Network Adaptor Priority

Whenever I plug my laptop into the docking station, it continues to use the wireless adaptor rather than the LAN connection. To force Windows 7 to prefer the LAN you must change the priority in the Network Connections window. But why isn’t this the default?

  1. Search for “View Network Connections”.
  2. Click “Organize->Layout->Menu bar”
  3. In the menu bar, select “Advanced->Advanced Settings”
  4. Move the LAN connection above the Wireless connection.
